These groundwater zones are delineated on the basis of hydrogeological properties, geomorphology, groundwater - surface water interaction, observed variations in groundwater quality and levels, surface water catchments, known geological unit and aquifer extents, and resource development.</SPAN></P></DIV> Groundwater These Groundwater Management Zones are part of the Proposed Southland Water and Land Plan (pSWLP) and apply to groundwater consents issued after June 2016.
